The Mvskoke Maroons Este-Lvste People of the Carolinas are an ancient tribal body consisting of a number of diverse indigenous peoples. The name Mvskoke, is interpreted as, "mixted blood"; a term denoting that the Mvskoke Maroons people are of diverse lineages, and bloodlines. The Mvskoke Maroons Este-Lvste People, (people of color) of the Bahamas, was founded by the Honorable Chief Black Eagle), Chief Peter Alexander Gilcud in collaboration, and oversight by the Honorable Chief Firebird, (Chief Ricky Young). Chief Firebird is the Principal Chief of the Wulff Clan in the United States, and he resides over the Mvskoke Maroons Este-Lvste People of the Bahamas. The Mvskoke Maroons Este-Lvste People of the Carolinas are governed by a set of principles outlined in the Mvskoke Maroons Este-Lvste People constitution of the Carolinas.

The Turtle clan was established in the Bahamas over 5 years ago to date by our founding member, and Chief, the late Peter Alexander Gilcud. The Turtle Clan is consdered to be the mother clan of all other clans to come after her. The Turte clan adheres to the tribal constitution of the Mvskoke Maroon Este-Lvste People of the Carolinas. Though considered a separate clan alongside the Marlin clan, there's really no division as both clans are unified in constitution, creed, mission, and purpose. The Turtle clan has an Elder Council of senior members who essentially provides general oversight. The Chief Council provides operational oversight of the clan. The clan's Principal Chief is Chief Tafari, (TanaCaonabo).
