Our Leadership Hierachy & Structure
The Mvskoke Maroons Nation Este Mvskoke People – Turtle Clan operates under a traditional leadership structure that combines active governance with the wisdom and guidance of respected elders. The Turtle Clan in The Bahamas is overseen by Chief Firebird, Principal Chief of the Wolf Clan, based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, who serves as the overseeing chief for the Bahamian territory. The Elder Council, led by Queen Mother Myra Thompson and Queen Mother Rosemary Brown, serves as the highest advisory body of the Clan, providing cultural guidance, wisdom, and counsel on matters of importance. The day-to-day affairs and operations of the Turtle Clan are administered by the Chief Council, led by Principal Chief Tafari Thompson, with support by our Vice Chief, Chief Ironwood. Chief Nana Jan Qua is our tribal histotian, and Chief Ritmon (INFORMATION GOES HERE). Supporting the Chief Council are Tribal Chiefs entrusted with specific responsibilities and offices, including Chief WarHawk. Chief Fayne Symour is responsible for Fisheries and maritime. Chief Pachino Shermon is reponsible for media and outreach.
